Cheers!

XB-48 should be there. So should the Su-9. Thanks!

Me 262 is number 65. Ryan Fireball SHOULD count since it had a jet. XB-42 was a propeller airplane. The XB-43 is number 24.

I assembled this list some years back and have rather obviously missed a few since I didn't exactly check it for thoroughness.. It's nice to see how quickly missing jets get mentioned!

Thanks to you both!

Shucks, I wanted to nominate the Avro Canada CF-100 Canuck, but the prototype, shown below first flew 19 Jan 1950!

There is the Nakajima J9N1 Kikka, first flight 7 August 1945, at least per Wikipedia.

XB-42A sure does count. Good catch, Wuzak and GrauGeist (apologies for not thinking before I posted a rebuttal above!).

I simply forgot about that one. Perhaps old age is winning yet again.

I was thinking of some other jets but, so far, all the ones I thought of were 1950 or later. I bet there are a few more out there ...
