Kill totals by type

I have been searching the web now for some time without success (its how I found this site) and I would like to ask if any member knows of a definitive list of the highest kill totals by type for each of the major combatant countries.

from F K Mason I know that the Hurricane tops the UK list with circa 6,700 kills during WW2 (55% of all RAF fighter kills). I know the Bf 109 is the most successful of them all with how many kills? Also the US, Rusian and Japanese top totals would help me.

Are you considering only Air Force kills? Or Naval planes as well?

Any. I am primarily after the highest scoring fighter type for each country and how they compare, but a top three or five maybe would give a broader picture. I found the US figures on another thread on this site which gave the P-51, F6F and P-38 totals so anything like that would be fabulous
