On this day in 1983 at 6:20 AM, a suicide bomber killed 241 American Marines of the 1st Battalion, 8th Marines of the 2nd Marine Division. Two minutes later a similar attack occurred against the French company of the 1st Parachute Chasseur Regiment, killing 58. Try to take a moment to remember these brave young men who made the ultimate sacrifice in the name of liberty.
