Way, way, too much face time.
I get tired of looking at him while he displays a few pictures that usually are of later models of the U2, instead of the one in use during the time period he's talking about.
That's typical of most of his videos.
And by the time the U2 started it's overflights of the USSR, they'd progressed way beyond the Mig 15.

Powers was sentenced to 10 years confinement, 3 years in prison, the rest in a labor camp.

But he was exchanged early in his sentence.

Simon's videos are great if you have NO background knowledge, as an initial exposure to the subject at hand. Many of us on this forum are already past his level of explanation, though, and it gets tiresome, seeing incorrectly dated footage trying to be matched to an explanation. and often, an overly simplistic explanation.

But it is still better to have this sort of wide but shallow exposure, than none at all. Any experts ought to know better than to expect more.
I see it as the "sound bite" of aviation history. Fun, but not very in-depth.

His "Geographics" series probably has the same effect on informed geographers out there....

There are many aviation videos on YT that don't have the face time, but fill the video with incorrectly dated footage and even incorrectly identified aircraft.
