Looking to get back into the hobby, need info.

After many years off from the hobby am looking at getting back into scale model building. Interest is WW2 aircraft mainly.
Am looking for references on how to build. Would like to have a few book and web-site suggestions covering techniques on building and finishing.
Going to start with a 1/48 Tamiya P-51D, most likely build it straight fromt he box to begin with and see how that goes.
