Lt. Col. Miguel Encinas, USAF (retired), passed away Saturday, 20 February 2016 at the age of 92.

A recipient of three Distinguished Flying Crosses, he flew in WWII, Korea and Vietnam and served with the U.S. Air Force until 1971. He also held two Purple Hearts and 14 Air Medals.

He also served on Washington D.C.'s World War II Memorial Advisory committe at the request of President Clinton.

Miguel Encinias dies; fought in 3 wars, earned 3 Distinguished Flying Crosses

It might interest some that during WWII, Mr. Encinias flew a Spitfire with the 2nd FS, 52nd FG and during Korea, he flew the P-51D and the F-86.
