    There are some interesting negatives coming up on eBay if anyone is interested.

    But this one caught my eye especially

    Isn't this a Spitfire already with Luftwaffe mottling?

    Wow, that's interesting. Don't think I have ever seen a Spitfire in German camo.:cool:

    That pic (plus a couple of others like it) are already on the Luftwaffe-Experten forum (check out the captured Allied aircraft section).

    Now, anyone care to guess at the colours? I don't think the lighter-tone is Sky Type S!

    almost looks like the Hellblau is the base color overall...man I'd love to see that photo in color

    It certainly looks like a single overall colour - hell Blau would be my guess. Sprayed over everything then some "squiggles" added. The underwing roundels have not covered all that well but no Luftwaffe marking to be seen.

    As pointed out above, these pictures (and many others) have been posted on the Luftwaffe Experten Message Board. There is an entire thread on this aircraft if memory serves, its identity and history are known.
