An oxygen cylinder found at the crash site of the Heinkel 111. Can anything more be said from the markings ( e.g. year of production ) ?

Looking quite commonly and used for many German ww2 aircraft and also for the medic purposes . There should be the another inscription with the date of production. Eg ... Sauerstoff Leer 217 KG Füll 150 ATÜ. 16.10.40 where the 16.10.40 is the date of making.

Thank you for your reply. So the date of manufacture of my cylinder could be July 22, 1942. I am just puzzled by the lack of dots.

No, it is not the date. The one was stamped with the inscription started with the "Sauerstoff". I have marked the location in the pics above. The inscription was stamped on the another side of the bottle or next to the info seen in the pics you posted here. So both the inscriptions should be stamped on the bottle.

the two sides of the same Sauerstoffflasche ...

I cannot tell you about what is stamped, but this is a 'restored' bottle from an He111.
