Lived in a few places within about 20 miles from each other or less.I'll take a bratwurst over a hot dog any day though. Whereabouts in Illinois, Wheels? I grew up in a small farming community in Wisconsin, Muskego.
That would be an almost unbelievable coincidence if you had family near Cantrall. Not sure why, but Cantrall sounds familiar. We had family on my dad's side in a bunch of little towns in Illinois.
Now you guys are getting real close to where my stepdad was raised. He lived in a sprawling metropolis named El Paso until he joined the Marine Corps. That would be an almost unbelievable coincidence if you had family near Cantrall.
I have family in the Effingham, Springfield, and Peoria areas, some in small towns like you say and others in the "city" proper.
I laugh about that now when I think the cities are all under 150,000 people.

Cool Wheelsup, my stepdad came back from the Korean war and worked for a number of years at Caterpillar before heading west.Starting to sound more an more like old home week GG.
My uncle worked at Caterpillar for over 40 years.
He still lives in Peoria.
The other big industry back there is the RailRoad and I have some uncles and cousins who are working for them.

I know the railroad is a big employer back there, but remember in that neck of the woods, "corn is king"...
