How did the flex mount for an MG15 mounted in the Storch work?
Fr the photos, it's clear the "ball" mount was pivoted overall at ea of its sides to provide up and down motion. The ball has an internal pivot top and bottom to allow side to side motion. But, in storage mode, the gun itself could rotate 90 deg on the barrel axis. Appears to me the side to side fitting on the gun could be allowed to rotate to provide storage mode.
Also, apparently the bubble itself could rotate since there is a locking geared rack around its internal circumference. What was the purpose here and why was it needed? Seems overly complicated to me.
