The Miles Magister entered service in 1937 as the primary monoplane trainer for the RAF and Fleet Air Arm.

The production totalled around 1,300 and the Magister was used by several air forces worldwide.

The Magister was unarmed, but were sometimes fitted with racks for small practice bombs.
