More WW2 bombs found under children's playpark

In WW2 RAF Milfield was sited a few miles to the North of Wooler. The airfield was used by RAF Hurricane and Typhoon aircraft for intensive armament training with several air to ground/bombing ranges in the area. From the photo I have seen they appear to be 15lb practice bombs which are probably from the ranges at Horton Moor, Doddington North Moor and Wooler Common. The live air to ground range was located at Goswick/Holy Island on the Northumberland coast
 
In the city of Essen, where I live, they find a bomb upwards of 500 lbs at least once a month. They increasingly need to be blown up in situ, because the fuses are too unsafe to remove. Last year, such a controlled detonation damaged about 120 homes. You get used to it, although securing and evacuating the danger area is always a lengthy business and can be highly disruptive to traffic. Record holder for size is, I think, a British 8000lb "cookie", although I wonder why that was a dud as they used to have six individual impact fuses. So a bunch of practice bombs would hardly rate an newspaper article over here.
