If you are a fan of the Mosquito, the new movie on streaming TV, of the tragic story of the bombing of the mission to bomb the Shell building in WW2 that lead to the accidental bombing of a children's school, features a mix of good CGI and real Mosquito's, and the dangers of low altitude high speed missions.

That sounds right, I had not seen the post on "New Mosquito Movie", there is more about the events surrounding the bombing in the movie than scenes involving Mosquito's, though the scenes with engine start, taxing, and low level flying are good.

Saw the trailer for this last night, was going to watch it but daughters came home from the movies and took over the TV...

Definitely on the watch list, the Mossies looked totally real (at least in the quick shots they showed) and in one shot there appeared to be Allison powered Mustangs escorting them, so a MUST watch for me.

Yes, I was impressed by the CGI in the movie, the planes looked realistic, and none of the Hollywood over the topness in the film, aka "Pearl Harbor". Another recently streamed film, " The Forgotten War" is also good, in both cases, the movies are more low key with good attention to detail than what Hollywood produces which is refreshing.

Just finished this movie.

Wow. Yup, the Mossie's were pretty damn convincing, there was a mention in the briefing that they'd be escorted by 30 Mustangs, one shot of a B/C model during the mission.

After that, if you're a sensitive fellow like myself, I can't recommend it. Actually I can, it's just a VERY powerful narrative and extremely well done, 10 our of 10 but don't expect to have dry eyes at the end.

The ending scene, just say I'll never take oatmeal (porridge) for granted again.

I just watched the film today.

Quite impressed with it mostly.

A couple of ideas seem to be related to modern events - such as the boy being afraid of the sky due to an attack by the RAF on a car for a wedding party, reminiscent of the fears of children in parts of Pakistan and Afghanistan because of drone strikes

The attack on the car seems to paint the RAF as reckless.
