Well Gents,

I am finally going to start a build I have been wanting to do for a few years now. Tamiya's beautiful 1/32 F4U-1D Corsair.

This aircraft will be done as a restoration aircraft. Decked out in the colours of Canadian Victoria Cross recipient Robert Hampton Grey's Vintage wings of Canada Corsair. Here's some pictures of that particular Corsair. All decals are in my possession including the markings on the cowling and forward of the aircraft number. I am excited. More to come.

Looking forward to see what you do with it. I think it'll be easier to replicate the modern representation of Grey's aircraft than to attempt the various mods needed to accurately show his wartime mount

Thanks Andy. I would agree. THE FAA Corsairs had the sawed off wing tips as you know but the VWOC Corsair was a standard F4U-1D with no mods to the wingtips.

There's a Fella over at large Scale Modeler LSM who can crank out a kit a week of the 1/32 Corsair in his sleep kid you not David. He goes the salmon inside when the planes had it I will be poking my head in. ;)
