Hi, My name is Alfred and I am from Malta, I collect German artifacts, but recently I got hooked on a Japanese ww2 sword and I wish to expand my collection. I bought this Flag and knowing that there are many forgeries around I wish to have your expert opinion about it, also if possible to translate what is written on the flag.
I appreciate any help. Thank you in advance.
Alf

The best guy to help would be Shinpachi but he may not see your post as the thread title doesn't mention it's Japanese. If you don't hear from him in the next few days try starting a private conversation with him.

Thanks mate.

Welcome to the forum, Alfred, and thanks for your PM. The flag can be read and understood like this -

久長運武 (= 武運長久) Continued luck in the fortunes of war
祢宜町五丁目 Negi-cho 5-chome (address near Nagoya City)
少年日參團 Shrine Boy Scout

(Seal on the right-bottom)
武運長久 熱田神宮
Continued luck in the fortunes of war by Atsuta Shrine (in Nagoya City)

This flag was manufactured by parents of a shrine boy scout to sell as a souvenir at Atsuta Shrine in the postwar.
A very good authorized flag by a famous shrine.

Hope this helps.
