    Hi guys,

I am about to start building P-47D Razorback in 1:16 with all the details and functions of the real bird (except for the engine with internal combustion of course). My replica will feature movable surfaces via cockpit commands, retractable gear, functional bomb/fuel tank racks, lights.... I plan to incorporate ALL the details from the real aircraft. Model would be build in aluminium in the way aircraft was made back in 1940, that is, i plan to do bulkheads for fuselage, install all the details and then cover it with ALU panels.

I have already started on this one and now making preliminary drawings for aft fuselage, fin and ruder.

I have acquired all the technical and parts catalogs and manuals but i still need a fair amount of technical drawings to make this one as accurate as possible and that's where i need all the help that i can get so if anyone of you have ANY tech drawings of the P-47 or any of its parts i would highly appreciate if i could get those (Via post, email.... i would pay for any postage costs, of course).

Also, any drawings showing structural sections, parts, assemblies or sub assemblies are more than welcome!

If anyone of you guys are doing a P-47 restoration or know someone who does, it would be great if i could get some hires photos of specific parts and assemblies!

As i have a decent archive of various aircraft books, references, drawings.... i would be happy to help anyone out with any of those, just PM me.

Many thanks in advance for any help.

    Kind regards,
    Alek

I'm currently building a full scale replica cockpit of a P-47D-30 from the floor up and from the throttle quadrant to the front of the windscreen. You can see it by clicking on the link below my signature. I've collected a lot of info in the last few years off the net, mostly on the cockpit. If you want I'll pull some of it together and post it here.

Many thanks for your offer to help! Anything i can get would be highly appreciated! I will come to the cocpit build soon enough so your stuff would be helpful for sure. Also, i would like to get anything else that you may have on the 'Jug'.

If it would make things easier you could archive all the data in a '.rar' file and upload (i can provide a FTP account on my company server. The file could be available to anyone who wants it if you like it that way)

    Please let me know!

    Many thanks,
    Alek

I'm afraid I'm not computer savvy enough to even know what a .rar file is Alek. I'm posting the drawings and pictures from manuals I have, sources unknown. The only ones I had to resize were the first 3 which are probably the ones you need most. If there not high enough resolution I get them to you some other way. I also have many many detail photos of the cockpit interior. far too muck to post here.

    Hi TBolt,
Great stuff! I already have the first 3 in high resolution so no worries there however, i don't have much of the rest.

As for the 'rar' file, sorry for confusion :)
.rar is extension for compressed archive containing some number of files, if you are using Windows you would simply select all the files you want to upload then right click on them and then 'send to>compressed (zipped) folder' to get a single file containing all the stuff you want to upload.

I would for sure find a good use of your cockpit photos so when you find some time and if you manage to .zip (compress) them in one file, you can simply upload it here:

    RapidShare AG, Cham, Switzerland

There is a button "Upload files here" in the middle of the screen and then just choose that compressed file and upload. When its done, you would get a link to your file that you would send me so i can download :)

Of course i will understand if this is too much of work for you so no worries! ;)

Many thanks once again, you really helped!

    Kind regards,
    Alek

I zipped the pictured then registered at RapidShare and downloaded the file and it gave me a link, but I couldn't figure out how to copy it and wile I was fooling around with it I somehow lost it and couldn't find it again. I'll try again tomorrow if I have some time.

thanks for your efforts, no worries about the link, when you have more time you can try to find it.

In a meantime if you give me a name of the zipped file you uploaded i could simply search the rapidshare and try to find it.

    many thanks,
    Alek
