    ...but prior the VJ day:
    I'm looking for good info re. it's deployment, program milestones etc. for Feb 1945 till VJ day. I've read that 1st examples were produced in Feb. 1945, so please post your further data :)

    3rd february '45 first flight, 44-64160, this plane was loss the 6th
    2nd september 370th H accepted
    9th november 555th and last H accepted (20 H-1, 280 H-5, 255 H-10)

    There is a Ginter book on the P-51H in their Air Force Legends book line. Hope that helps.
