This is my first aircraft model in 30 years. I'm a huge A.V.G. fan and decided to build a version
that I have not seen built before. It's really a model of a full size model P40. The one picture
shows that light colored paint was being applied to the undersides. I took a lot of liberty in painting it camouflage
because I have never seen a picture of a finished decoy. I'm not sure how elaborate they painted them. I took the tried and true Monogram P40B
kit, sanded away all of the surface detail and then overlapped masking tape to get the look of the
canvas that was applied to the wooden skeleton.

Cool Idea! I've seen those pictures of the P-40 decoys but never heard of someone modeling them. And the way you did it…… :thumbright:
