Hello, I reserved for christmas (or my birthday) a eduard yak 1 from a member of my club (along with russian P39 and yak 3 combo from veduard with multiple japanese planes, including a bf 109 E7) and I was wodneirng if there's any available info and pictures on that plane and its pilot, google isn't giving anything.
Thanks for your answers, I heard the base is actually not bad .
No wonder ... it was going to be used for fighting but not for exibition. However according to the russian source I read there was more Yak-1Bs givent to pilots by the farmers. At the factory, they even made a stencil for these aircraft, on which they applied the dedication inscriptions: "To the defenders of the Stalingrad Front from the collective farmers ... of the Saratov region." One of the Yaks was given just to Pavel Karavai. So it is possible the inscription on the starboard could have been a little different than the one attached by the Eduard. But if there is no evidence of the text written there, the same on both sides could be as well. Actaully I have found the another info that it is possible the plane was assembled in a factory as the kite painted with the AMT colours. The winter MK-7 paint was applied later in the unit. So it could mean that the inscription was painted white initially and then overpainted with the winter camouflage. Hence the different inscription applied with the red colour.

if you would be interested in ... I found that one of the founded Yak-1Bs from farmers of the Krasnoyarsk District went to the Normandie Squadron under Yves Bizien commanding. It could be a nice option, IMHO. Also these without the inscriptions but with the French roundel too.
I'm going for red 12, it's the same kind of scheme (and the plane and pilot are real too), tho I know hobby 2000 has the option for the white yak from niemen (for them, I got the heller yak 3).
