Bad day at the Planes of Fame today. Ed Maloney, our founder, passed away yesterday. Ed founded "The Air Museum," the first aviation museum west of the Mississippi River in 1957, with 10 airplanes on display including our B-17. Ed was responsible for many unique aircraft that have been saved over the years including the Boeing P-26 and Northrop Aplha in Washington, our Northrop N9M-B, our A6M5 Zero and many others.

Ed was a visionary and his vision resulted in the unique planes we continue to display and fly on a regular basis. He will be sorely missed by everyone in our community and many around the world.

Blue skies, Ed.
