Evergreen Aviation was working on a few DC-10 tankers...not sure who owns the 747 fire tanker, but it's pretty impressive.

Earlier, I mentioned Evergreen...I had that mixed up. Evergreen owned the 747 aerial tanker (apparently, they went bankrupt January of this year) and it is 10 Tanker that owns the Dc-10 aerial tanker fleet.

During the 2008 fires, I saw 10 Tanker's 910 overfly my town with the Governor aboard (I got a few photos, but they look like poop).

From what I've heard, several tankers are stationed at VCV (Victorville), including Evergreen's 747.
