Anyone have suggestions on preventing the issue in the photos? A little off topic, I'm restoring Matchboxes. The car was primed with acrylic metal primer, two days later painted with green paint. All Tamiya acrylics. I've used the same process on other cars. Perhaps I thined the green too much?

The nice part of about Matchboxes is they take relatively little time, scratched and beat up cars are had for a dollar or two, and if you don't like the paint job, just strip and start over.

Yep it looks like to much thinned paint. But also it seems that you didn't degrease the surface properly.. I would suggest sanding the areas with these light spots with some of very fine sandpaper. Just a little bit of course and then re-applying of the green colour but not that thinned.

I used .5 ml thinner to 1 ml green paint, but with the small amount, its easy to over thin

I see. So you have to use more paint for the mixture.
