Princess Cruises' Diamond Princess Arrives at Osaka!

Cloudy days continue here but we have had the Diamond Princess at out Osaka port today.
She is owned by P&O in UK but operated by Princess Cruises in the US.
Ship builder was our Mitsubishi Heavy Industries in Nagasaki.
Built 12 years ago but the hull of 115,875 tons still overwhelms others.
So cool ship.

This time, I got aboard a ferry to take pictures from the opposite pier too.
The pier leads to the Universal Studios Japan and it was a good chance for me to take late lunch there.

More great pics Shinpachi, and Osaka is certainly getting some huge ships visiting.
I'm guessing these vessels look even bigger when viewed 'live', and they must be an impressive sight, especially when they are actually about to dock.

We don't receive such huge ships many times a year as ordinary tonnages are around 10,000 to 20,000 tons at best.
This M/S Caledonian Sky is only 4,200 tons but I don't hate such a small ship as she looks very functional because of her compactness.

In the ocean, ships are free from the earthquake and can surf even the tsunami.
We islanders might as well live on the water in the future.
