And making plans for a stall at the big Christmas market.

He's got something of a handle on these, he now has to budget for his registration renewal, etc.Time to start teaching him about fixed and overhead costs. Let him figure out how many he has to sell to pay for the stall.

He's also learning about supply chain risks - his honey supplier has lost most of her hives over winter, and the lemon tree that he was getting most of his lemons from has just died.

Funny thing is, he's too young to qualify for just about any form of support. Even the gifted and talented programmes have a minimum age of 12 for entrepreneurial programs.So, at the risk of sounding silly, please check if the local university has a business incubation group. They can give hands on education and possibly enable you to document what he's doing for college credit later on.

But, one of the good things about being in a smaller town is that business organisations are willing to make exceptions. The local business development trust is just starting a networking group for 'young' business starters. It was aimed at 18+, but they're more than happy to make an exception for him.
On the face of it, yes. But I'll reserve any opinion until I have a chance to talk to them about it. There are quite likely reasons I'm not aware of.It's a good thing the musician, math, chess, etc. gifted and talented programs don't run age limits. Age limits for a "gifted and talented" would appear to be somewhat hypocritical in this case.
Oh, I fully understand and support the intent of those rules.Some of those laws are truly necessary but a lot are pure unadulterated taurus turds.
