Okay folks, I will get it started.

Please try to source the quotation if at all possible.

" Do not pity the dead Harry, pity the living:
But above all, pity those who live without love "

Albus Dumbledore
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

Cheers,

Jeff

God and soldier all men adore,
In times of danger and not before.
When the danger is past and all is righted,
God is forgotten and the old soldier slighted.

Friar Tuck

Cheers,

Not sure if true or not, but this one is attributed to Gen. Norman Schwarzkopf. When asked if he thought there was room for forgiveness toward the people who have harboured and abetted the terrorists who perpetrated the 9/11 attacks on America he is said to have replied:

"I believe that forgiving them is God's function... OUR job is to arrange the meeting."

"Where books are burned, they will, in the end, burn people"

Heinrich Heine.

"Among the public there spread the expectation that the salvation of the German people would now come from Hitler. But in the lectures we were told that salvation comes only from Jesus Christ"

Inge Karding (on the lectures of Dietrich Bonhoeffer, 1932/3).

"Only he who crys out for the Jews may sing Gregorian chants"

Dietrich Bonhoeffer.
