Hello
Can anybody help me find out more about my Father in Law who has now passed away. He flew as rear gunner in Wellingtons and Lancasters with 103 Squadron. I know he was shot down early in the war with wounds to his leg and was in hospital in France before Dunkirk. He was evacuated from the beaches at Dunkirk. Returned to Belfast to recover. He was later flying as rear gunner in Lancasters. I assume he was with 103 squadron all the time although I cannot be sure of this. He was known as "Paddy" although his name was John Sharkey. I believe he finished the war with the rank of Sargeant. Hope somebody can help.
