There sure were Aaron!
BTW Jan old chap, i don't suppose you know of any kits of a Mk1 Escort in 1/24th or 1/25th scale, do you?
Would love to do my old rally car from the early 70s.

Is that the 1967 to 1973 (ish) rounded shape MkI Ford Escort? It was the car which dominated the world Rally Championships at the time, with Roger Clark doing a lot of the winning. Also raced in a beautiful red and gold scheme with Alan Mann Racing.
There was a Tamiya or Hasegawa kit of the MkII I had a few years back, but haven't seen a MkI.

Good description Aaron!
Jan old boy, have you any idea how much an even half-reasonable MkI Ford Escort RS1600 is worth these days ?!!!!
There's a guy not far from me who still has one, kept in a locked garage, guarded by a pair of the meanest Hippocroccofrogs in town !

You will have to forgive me, the Ford Escort came out in the US in the early 80's. I know absolutely nothing of a late 60's Escort. I'm sorry.

I remember as a kid, I wanted to have one of those RS2000 I think that they were called.

Done a couple of decals today again. I think that the RAMCHARGERS decals are ever so slightly too big...

Very Nice. I have one suggestion that I use for carberators. Mix 1 part gold to one part thinner and paint the carbs. This will give them that old carb look.
Again very nice job.
Ed

Nice work old boy.
Aaron, no problem. I guessed you meant is what we in the UK knew as the Mk3 Escort, followed by a slight design change, producing the XR4i.
