First of all: this model isn't mine! I found the video on YouTube and I thought that if you haven't seen it already, you will find it very nice.
As you will see, this isn't just an RC model, is much more: it's museum quality static model that fly.
Unfortunately the text is in Italian, so I summarise here following the main points:
The project was started on the drawing board by Giovanni Carniato in 1968.
Unfortunately Giovanni died in 2007, but the son, Enzo, continued it until the first take off in June 2009.
Model wingspan is 3,16 meters and is powered by three 1,6 Kw electric motors with two batteries each.
Four pieces built.
In the b/w portion there are sequences of the test done to check the proper operation of self retracting Handley Page wing slats.
