I am using a metal stereo speaker grill for the intake on my latest modeling project, but it's something different,as one day y'all will see.

For an engine run screen it doesn't matter if it's a FOD screen or an anti-personnel screen, anything that scales down to a 1.5" square or a fine mesh on a model is going to appear solid. This is a PW100/TF30 mesh FOD Testcell bellmouth.
