At the outset, I am not a smoker and if what I am about to say offends readers or admin. I ask their indulgence. I assume a site dedicated to WWII would be accepting of my viewpoint.. After all, these same military persons (yes women were a part of the war) are often depicted with battered Zippo lighters in their hands.
I am 72 years old and never tried a cigarette. That said, you are seeing a move today to accomplish exactly the same thing with smoking as the noble experiment.. Little by little, an American industry is being squeezed by "well meaning citizens" and the oh so ready politicians that want their votes. Imagine a time when rum runners become cigarette runners? Or a smoker going into an illegal store and saying "Joe sent me." Or using fillers to boast illegal sales by an uncaring cigarette bootlegger. Or federal enforcement agents busting an illegal smoking den. This is not as far fetched as you might imagine.
