Scott Stapp who is the former singer of the band Creed put on a free show tonight for the soldiers, families and civilians who work for the Army at the airfield tonight.

It was a pretty good show, he played not only new songs from his solo album, but also all of Creeds old hits including My Own Prison, My Sacrifice, With Arms Wide Open, One, Higher, and What If. The concert was held in one the hangers.

After the show, I was able to get backstage (along with all the soldiers) to meet the band and get autographs. All in all it was a great night.

I have to say though, any band (I dont care what kind of music or whatever) that comes overseas and puts on a free show for the soldiers, is cool in my book. Lets forget about politics, soldiers are people like everyone else, and to put on a free show to help them forget about the times and unwind is a great thing. I :salute: the band for doing stuff like this.

For those that are not familiar with the music, here is some vids:

I'm not a fan of his but, freak'n hell! GREAT Job Scott! Thanks for supporting the troops.

IF I saw him live, I'd probably be a convert

I always liked him, until he started showing up drunk everywhere. I mean, get some control, dude.

BUT.....big props to him for doing this for the military.

I hate that idiot, free show or no free show....

 So harsh!

The Eagles' cheerleaders came out and did a tour of Iraq when I was there - you could imagine the turnouts for that. One guy, who was from Philly, was in the process of being transferred from one base to another the week that they were hopping from base to base. He was crushed... but one of his flights got cnx and he was able to see them at Al Asad.
