My great uncle, Finn Ørnulf Bakke was a part of the Norwegian squadron 332.
He departed Norway on May 5-1941 with 20 people and arrived Lerwick on the 7th. He finished school in England and were off to Little Norway in Canada before retuning to Europe to fight.
He fell in Feb 25- 1945 in Germany after an attack on a train in Marienbaum.

That's all I know about him, and I know my family, especially his brother (my grandfather) would like to know some more.

So, if anyone has any other information about my uncle - or any attacks he or his squadron were a part of, I'd be thrilled to hear of it!

A fellow Norseman! I was not able to find any books specifically on the 332nd but this is about all the info I could find - not much but the probable and actual kill is kind of cool

Not sure about this but according to this website as of 2004, Lt. Finn Ornulf Bakke from 332 Sq is the only remaining Norwegian in Reichswald War Cemetery

Hi - My grandfather is buried in this cemetry - I visited last week and noticed the gravestone of your great uncle and took a photo - all countries have a different style of headstone and the Norwegian grave stood out on it's own as he is the only Norwegian buried here I believe. Out of interest I googled the name and found this forum - if you would like the photo I took then please PM me your email address.

There is a series of three books "Spitfire Saga," on 331 332 Squadrons, written by Cato Guhnfeldt; Mr. Bakke is mentioned several times in book 3, but, as they're written in Norwegian, I can't tell you any more, apart from there being a combat report, which includes his photo.
