Today was only the second annual model show put on by the Australian Plastic Modelers Association. Last year was a couple of hundred entries. This year were a few more, in my own estimation. It was held at the Hornsby War Memorial Hall, not a large room, 6 dealers were there, as last year. Next year it's moving to the Parramatta Returned Serviceman's League club. Never been there, but probably more room for dealers.

The quality was pretty good. Advertised as "cursory" judging, yeh right, magnifiers!!! But included all the categories, unfortunately I didn't get pictures of the airline and boat stuff, and I could kick myself for it. Next year! I was considering entering my Corsair, but no guts Davidson backed out.

So here are some of the photos I took to sample the show. I'll do several posts as is customary.

No Guts Davidson!

Love the tank/transporter and I'm sure there is quite a story in that diorama. Is that an arm on the right wing root? Until I get down to my birth weight, I shall refrain from the belly jokes.

Good stuff. Not sure about the P-41 diorama though - looks like it's got Gentille's markings, the one he accidentally belly-landed at Debden, right in front to the Press Corps. I'm guessing it's from a junior modeller, so a good attempt.

Yeah, I noticed the markings also. The national insignia is on the wrong wing, and I'm pretty sure Don didn't have his arm fall off, but otherwise a good attempt at a diorama.
Bill, I really have no room to talk, I'm wearing 36" pants while topping out at 5'6"!

I've only just noticed it's a 'D' model too! The basics are pretty good, so with a bit more experience, and some research, this chap's future efforts could be rather good.

That little Mustang didn't win anything, but I just thought it was a valiant effort by a Jr. The builder used everything in that one. Here's some more.
