Hello,
Here is my T28B from Roden 1/48.
I did not use the decals from the kit which are much too fragile but those from Xtradecals. If you really want to use the ones in the kit, you can improve them by giving them a coat of Tamiya varnish (X22) but you must then trim them carefully before gluing them.
I reinforced the front landing gear with a photoetch piece stuck in the half fork. The main landing gear has been shortened by 3mm, it is too long originally.
I also used photoetched and masks from Eduard and seats from Quickboost.
MRP paint and Tamiya semi-matt varnish.
Sorry for my english by Google translation.
Here is a link for more details:

Best regards from France !!!

🥇
That's beautiful.

The real aircraft was MSN 200-131 was written off 21Aug54. Extremely lovely model you've put together there, did my training in the T-28 Pensacola.
Hi,
Thank you for your comment but I don't understand your answer. If this plane was destroyed in 1954 it should have been painted yellow, the white and orange paint dating from 1956 or 1957 and I have a photo of this T28B with the white paint and international orange in Steve Ginter's book. In addition, the decal instructions indicate in the 70s.
PS: I may have just understood thanks to you I just realized that the serial of the decals is false, I hadn't paid attention... you must have searched with the serial 137768 but the real serial is in fact 137668 and this one is still in flying condition. You helped me realize this error but unfortunately I cannot correct it.
Thanks

Only the pedants would realise, I wouldn't worry Frey. The history of 137768 that I have is as I wrote, not what you would call expansive. From your photos anyone could come away with the impression it's the real deal. Congratulations.

Two years 1962/64 of being a mechanic and fligtline jockey With Headquarters Marine Flight Section, Andrews Air Forde Base Wash DC. We had 10 T-28s on call for the desk bound officers in Wash. DC, We also supplied transportation for the Marine Commandant. Easy aircraft to work on EXCEPT if you had magneto troubles then you had work on them on the back of the engine requireding you to stand up straight while you were in the nose gear landing well.

Really amazing !!!!!
you are truly lucky to have flown this kind of plane
Absolutely! Always wanted to fly a warbird, and this is a very suitable substitute. Just wish I wasn't such a greenhorn when I did it.

Fantastic model. I thought it was a photo of the actual bird at first. Was looking for the oil leak . . .
