I realize some jokes are more of insider jokes:

Gerry Eickkhof is a well known reporter for our main news agency. He looks ridiculous.
Lee Towers is a dutch singer who was very famous in the '70ies and did a lot of Sinatra songs. His music is generally regarded here as being bad taste.
Madurodam is a miniature world showing all the highlights in The Netherlands. It is located in The Hague.
De afsluitdijk is a big dam, about 32 km long which changed the salty 'Zuiderzee' into the fresh water 'IJselmeer'. It's one of our greatest achievements in waterworks and made The Netherlands a lot more safer from the water.
