Ok, here we go... Starting out with my home and the beginnings of the storm...

The last pic of me was right after I pulled a handicapped man out of his house, at the end of my block.... I swam down there to get him... I have literally hundreds of cuts all over me....

More to come...

Oh and BTW, I live in a no flood zone... It hasnt flooded here in over 100 years.... Go figure...

WOW Les - It looks like cause you were a tad higher than your neighbors you were spared the flooding! The blue car really shows the results!!

in the area that i was living before allison was also a no flood zone, but what the heck happened?
just 38 inches of watter inside the house

Very true.... Heres the pics from my damage....

The tree landed on my son Ryans' bed, 20 minutes after I woke him up to witness the storm.... It hit so hard it popped the roof off on the other side of the house, as is evident by the soffit and trim ripping down like it did...

There is major structural damage to the rafters along the whole backside of the house.... Thank God for homeowners insurance.....

incredible shots friend.

have to ask though on your first shots. The water came down to your house as it appears from the scan your home sits lower than the no outlet sign ? probably just the angle. so the house you rescued your nighbor from was the one boarded up across the street in the scans ?

and your house is shaped in a U shape of sorts, with your sons room on the one corner that got hit ?

E ~ our church is working on a community project to send some big bucks toward the Gulf soon

I know this is stating the obvious but, man, you look like shit in that picture. Good thing you woke your son up! That is one big ass tree! I hope your insurance company sorts that out as soon as possible.

A bit lucky that you actually still have a house though. Great pictures of the terrible event.

No Erich, the first guy I rescued was at the end of the block, looking down towards the deeper water.... He was in a wheelchair and I had to hold onto him AND a piecce of debris to get back to my house.... The other ones I rescued were across the street and one house to the right...

pD, it was a loooonnnng night, and a longer morning.... Plus I had been out in 150 mph winds for about 2 hours at that point, trying to help my neighbors.... Plus, I dont think I was EVER GQ to begin with...

One of neighbors who was watching the whole thing transpire, could not believe the sight of me swimming down the road... He thought I had lost my mind during the storm....

Below are some more shots from my town and neighborhood....

now even in the netherlands we have problems with the disaster over there. they added another 4 cents for a liter of gas..
1,536.00 EUR = 1,932.68 USD
this is really getting out of hand, because its getting even more expensive :(
anyway,.. i hope at least a bit of the monney will help those who need it the most. ( because what ive heard, the enshurance isnt paying for water damage :S )
