Toying with the idea of going. But, it looks like a long shot.

Heard the best airshow is the day before when everyone shows up to practice.

ohhh Cape May!! I should be settled in at my new place and will need a break!

I was suppose to go last year but bailed at the last minute. Then later someone who went posted photos and it looked great. This year I made plans to go down with my 8 year old son but it looks like its going to rain. Its about a 2 hour drive for me.

I'm definately going to AC and it looks like maybe Cape May also. There is also a show in late September in West Milford that is supposed to have a Stuka available. Any thoughts Steve?

Greenwood Lake Airshow

Chris,

I'm planning on Cape May also. Only problem is that the warbirds will be there on Labor Day weekend so I've got to figure out what day and time will have the least traffic going south (100 miles for me).

Didn't know about the Greenwood Lake show. I'm putting that one on the calendar. Two hours north but traffic won't be a problem.

Won't be at AC though.

BTW, would that Stuka be a 3/4 scale replica?

Chris,

I'll be going to Cape May on Saturday, 5 September. Be leaving super early to avoid the Labor Day tourists. Maybe we can meet up depending on your schedule.

Got time to plan for the West Milford trip.

Been a long time since our MAAM WWII Weekend adventure with Charles back in June '08.

Hopefully it won't be as hot! :)

TO, don't know if I can make the Sat Cape May but it looks like Sunday for me. Still talking about West Milford.

But AC today. Freakin' weathermen! Predicting rain and I wake up to solid blue sky with no clouds!!! This should be great. Adr, I gave B-17 my ph# - have him call me and we can meet for one of those "Forum Pics" :)

My wife is there. She's down on Bringantine Island (next island up from AC), on the beach, watching the Air Show with our two year old. She said the show started yesterday with all sorts of birds buzzing around.

I'm stuck here with a bad back and work. CRAP! I was going to try and sneak out to make it.

From what I read in the paper, they are expecting 500k to show up. All sorts of great aircraft!

CRAP!

Not my pictures but here are some!

The show was great, but for a day that was to be filled with thunder showers it was freaking hot. Me and my son found some shade and a cool breeze under the Ocean Club. We were a block away when the F-22 Raptor did its flyby and set off all the car alarms.

The P-51's were good but I was a little bit disappointed. Don't get me wrong it was cool but All they did was formation flying. Loved the sound of those Rolls Royce Merlin engines.

The Yak-9 was pretty cool too. Too bad the F4U only did a flyby with the F-18. I would have liked to see more of that bird.

Other then the constant smell of garbage (The smell of AC in the morning) all morning it was a great day.

Just got back! Great show and HOT! My pre-wife set up shop in the casino (we were at the Tropicana) and I wandered outside until the heat made me lose a pound or two. I don't do well in heat - ask TO or Charles! :) But my camera is not the type for close-ups and such so here are what pics I could salvage. Missed a few flights as I was inside in the A/C. It wasn't too bad. I spent $7 on the nickel slots and won $100! Good day for me.

The shots are a helicopter re-fuel and an AWACs. A few pics of how crowded the beaches were. And the Thunderbirds - who had 6 (SIX) machines going (inside joke :)). The last is my pre-wife at the end of the day. Fantastic ending! :):):)
