RCAF Harvards were always gear door free. Could be ease of maintenance, not really sure. No doors is not exclusive to Canadian Harvard Aircraft Association.

Heading out the door in 30 minutes to begin the trip to Reading Pennsylvania to attend the MAAM WW2 weekend. Stopping in Buffalo to pick up Airshow Jason. He and I run the photo pit so it will be a busy weekend. I will be back home on Monday so I will post again on Tuesday of next week.
