Transport Aircraft

Here is a nice big transport the kind of thing that moves around all the things a fighter or bomer needs to get off the ground.

We airlifted out Blackhawks in a C-5 one time. We flew our birds up to Rammstein and loaded 2 of them into a C-5. Then we the crews got on board as well, including our maintenance support and flew out.

I also have flown several times in C-141's, C-17s and C-130s.

This was a hard strike by a tug which pushed this C130 over its chocks and rolling.

what was even more funny was there was an email sent out to everyone on base that no photos were to be taken or distributed. Red rag to a bull that.

Needless to say that was ignored by everyone even the Americans.

What I like is the people in the second picture looking at the chocks as if it was their fault!

99% of all helicopters leaving Iraq do not get loaded out on a C-5. They are flown to Kuwait and then prepared for shipping at the docks and then put on a boat.

That is how we brought our Hawks home as well.

These transited through Al Udied Airbase Qatar 2005 not shown were the Apaches which were round the other side of the HAS.
