US or Canadian bases ?

Hello,

A Royal Air Force Bomber Command airman was posted to Canada and USA for his training in 1941 and 1942.
Unfortunately we can't recognise all the names of the bases on the joined photo.
Can you help us between Pensacola and Albany and just below Albany?

The 1 (O) AFU could be a reference to 1 (Observer) Advanced Flying Unit. It formed at Wigtown in Scotland as a training unit in Feb 1942 and was flying Ansons, Bothas as well as a few Lysanders by the end of the year.

Last two entries appear to be Toronto and Trenton, both in Ontario, Canada.

Pittsburg(h), PA.

The Pittsburgh in PA is spelled with an "H". All of the other Pittsburg's in the USA do not have the "H".

That makes Pittsburgh properly English and Pittsburg German. In Anglo-Saxon Burgh is a fortified place. Thus Pittsburgh is Pitt's fortified place.
