using matt clear

Hi chaps,
I've just given a FAA Wildcat a coat of Revell Aquacolor clear matt, and although it seems okay I have found that the black portion of the D-Day type stripes are now more of a dark grey.
Am I putting it on too thick or is there a trick to using it??

Sounds like it needs a thorough stirring before use. A 'milky' or even chalky appearance can be caused by the matting agent not being fully mixed with the carrier solution, so any matt clear needs a really good stir. Also, apply a thin coat first, laying it off fully if brushed, and allow to dry properly. If you then think it needs another coat, then repeat as above, again stirring thoroughly before use.
