Could the Bf 109 E really out-turn the Spifire Mk I?
Many people would probably say no: The Spitfire has both a larger wingspan and a lower wing loading. So the physics speak against the Bf 109.
In addition, lore and legend is very clear on this point, saying that while the Bf 109 certainly was fast and climbed well, it had no chance at all in a turn fight with a Spitfire.
However, this video argues that the Bf 109 E could actually out-turn the Spifire Mk I at lower altitudes by lowering its flaps.
