What color are the screens (oil cooler and radiators) on a Bf 109?

Instructions for my Hasegawa Bf 109 specify painting the oil cooler and radiator screens steel. When I search the internet for photos, the radiator screens under the wings look like the same color (RLM 76) as the bottom of the aircraft. Can anyone verify the actual color of the screens? Thanks!

I'd go with the metallic colour of the radiator cores. I've seen some oil coolers with evidence of slight overspray, presumably when a tactical colour was applied to the nose, but they are exceptions. It's a simple thing to protect the cores by shoving some rags into the intakes.

Me too. Photos of '109s with the cowlings off, and service manuals showing the radiator matrix, show these as metallic.
