    Gents,

I came upon this picture on the internet somewhere and I'm curious as to what Luftwaffe bomber(?) it shows? My initial thought was that it was a Ju 88, but the tapered fairing between the gun mounts has me thrown. A field mod or something else?

Good question. I had the same train of thought as you. It is twin engined as you can see the prop blades in the background.

Junkers Ju88 with late Gefechts stand i think (Not the rectangular windows). You can make out the ridge in the 2 nd pic

I don't know. Looks longer in my pic. I think you are definately right with it being an 88, just never seen that fairing between the MGs before.

Begs the question: Assuming you are trying to squeek out every last ounce of speed from the 88 with this mod, why not just go with the single center gun mount? Unless going into harms way is definately expected and you need 1 more gun? Hmmm...
