de-icing boots painted, and gear doors installes, she's ready for a coat of future!

 
yeah, but I stick a thick wire through it so I don't have to handle it when I paint it or apply future.

decals being applied. little preview here. used Minicraft connie cockpit window decals. had to modify them to where I had to cut out each individual window. after spending about 20 minutes positioning each window, I think I got it.
 
Looking good Rob. I still can't quite understand why decals are used on the cockpit, and/or fuselage windows, if transparent parts are supplied. I realise that some of these are a bit thick, but even Micro 'Kristal Klear' must be better than solid black windows.
 
Well, you could mask the whole cockpit glazing, the apply the required coloured frames with strips of decal ? Or, mask the entire window, and cut out the strips for the frames?
 
another thing I could do is take some black, and go along the length of the cockpit windows, wait for it to dry, then grab the same white I used for the overall color, and paint the frames and any other parts that are supposed to be white, leaving only the windows themselves, black. this is something I wanted to try. and it works
 
sorry fellas. little late on posting progress on the new project. I'm doing a TWA Boeing 757-200, with special detail decals from Flying Colors. there won't be any pics as of right now, since the batteries in my cam are dead x.x. anyways, initial assembly is done (fuselage, nose weights, engines, wings) got the putty applied as well. used the same technique as I did the connie. masking on both sides of the seams and applying the putty. I'll be sanding it down tonight.
 
some progress on my Eduard BF-110E 1/48. This is to represent Walther Ehle's ride (Gruppen Kommandeur II.NJG.1 from Oct 1940 until Nov 1943) I might have made a slight mistake on the rear fuselage section. While there are some excellent photo's of this particular aircraft they don't show wether Ehles mount had the extende rear fuselage with dinghy to it. The instructions on the Owl Decals set I used show it to be the normal (short) rear fuselage, but when I was at a point where I couldn't change it anymore I ran into some additional pics (some of these typical EBay preview low resolution pics) that very likely show Ehle's mount to have....the longer fuselage ...oh well you can't have it all...besides I feel the extended fuselage ruins the overall shape of the 110 anyway, so I happy with how this is coming together sofar.

Right now I'm about to go back to work on a 1/350 Minicraft TITANIC. I've got this entered in a GB on another forum, and I must say it's a challange. I loaded up on Tom's PE for all the davits, and railings deck benches and such, so I really have my work cut out for me.
