Well I like several sports: American Football, Hockey and Football (Soccer). Wel there are plenty of threads to talk about Hocky here and plenty of threads to talk about the NFL so I figured I would start up a World Soccer Thread since there are plenty of football fans out there.

Here everything Football (Soccer) can be discussed.

Oh and if you dont like Football (Soccer): syscom3 then please dont post stupid stuff like you tried to do during the World Cup 2006, just dont post in this thread.

First glance impression is that this rank is heavily based on the last year results: I don't see Brazil behind Italy and France as global evaluation.

Is it related only to national teams or the global results of all the Country teams ?
In the latter case I would agree on Italy #1 because of Milan winning the Champions league this year, in addition to the W. cup in 2006.
But I think the 2007 south america equivalent (libertadores cup) still has to be assigned and a Brazilian team could win it.

Also Greece seems to me a bit too low at #15: all in all they won the last European cup

Every month the rankings change around the 15th. It is based off of the games they played in the last 30 days. If you are currently loosing you will be dropping in the ranks. It also takes into account the opponants that you are playing. If you are playing the 199th ranked team and win 25-0 you will not get as many points as someone who beats the 3rd ranked team 1-0.

It does not account for the club teams from each country.

These are the official FIFA rankings and can be seen at FIFA.com

It's still 8 weeks until the Premiership kicks off; living without football is a nightmare! I never take any notice of the FIFA rankings, after our current displays I don't think we even belong in the top 20

If you are not playing well you drop...

I will start posting scores from the 2nd of June and update it daily here shortly after I return from dinner at the biergarten with friends.

  ....:D

No problem, that game was lost even before the last penalty shot was trown. J. Pekermann is a fine manager but I dont know why the F...K he take out Riquelme who is a specialist in penalty kicks and why the F...K he cant put Messi at list some minutes in the field.

The injure of Abbondanzieri (who also is a good GK in penalties) dindt help either.

I didn't even know that Sweden was up at 17th place.... Looking forward to next years European Championship. How far do you think Greece will get this time, after winning the last championship? Busy times for you Adler, since they play Germany, right?

I dont think Greece will get very far at all. The only reason they went as far as they did the last time is because they were hosting it. They are leading there group at the moment but I dont see them getting past powerhouses, Italy, France, and Germany.

Group A:
Poland 9 games played and 19 points.
Serbia 7 games played 14 points.

Group C:

Bosnia 7 games played 13 points.

Group D:
Germany 7 games played 19 points.
Czech Republic 7 games played 14 points.

Group E:
Croatia 7 games played 17 points.
Israel 8 games played 17 points.

Group F:
Sweden 7 games played 18 points.
Spain 7 games played 15 points.

Group G:
Romania 7 games played 17 points.
Bulgaria 7 games played 15 points.

Leading scoring teams:
Germany: 29 goals
Sweden: 17 goals
Norway: 17 goals
Israel: 17 goals
Slovakia: 17 goals

Oh and Charles I will update some things about the Copa America as well.

Least goals allowed are the teams that have allowed the least goals. As in the fewest goals against them.

Most goals allowed are the teams that have allowed the most goals. As in the most goals against them.
