Zeppelin

My grandparents thought this was part of a Zeppelin brought down over Essex in WW1. There's nothing on the web about that , so does anyone know what this is?

To me, it looks like where fabric panels are tied together to the framework.

1916 was a bad year for the German Luftschiff squadrons.
Several were downed around Essex, including L32 and L33 in September of that year.
