Here are scenes from "Kato Hayabusa Sentai" (Colonel Kato's Falcon Squadron- 1944). Real Oscars taking on (literally) toy P-40s Buffalos. A Buffalo actually wins a dogfight. Maybe the pilot was of Finnish ancestry. 6:19

Your welcome "stug3"...I also have some Ki-10, Ki-27 and Kawanishi K8K footage up there. With regards to the "Kato Hayabusa Sentai" footage, there is some actual live footage of captured aircraft cut together with the effects models...keep a sharp eye out for them.

Very interesting. Looks like the two films used some of the same footage but that the quality seems about as good as the combinations of live action and models you see in most Hollywood productions from the same period. I wish I knew what the two guys in Battle Troop were chatting about while the battle rages overhead. Looks like they're sure having a good time

Just an observation but I don't think Zeros could be fitted with camera for the guns. The only photo I have seenof a Zero used for training wwhich had camera guns had the camera fitted on top of the wing.
