Shown here is a F4F-3 Wildcat wearing the two-tone, blue-grey and light grey scheme in effect during late 1941 through 1942. Red horizontal rudder stripes were used January-May 1942. Enlarged national insignia was used by some units on both the fuselage and wings during 1942. All red markings were ordered removed in May 1942.
