Great shots, sisu. Hoover's Mustang arrived on Saturday of the races this year and was parked in the Heritage Row, but of course was dragged out for the evening photo shoot on the Saturday.

It's good that it made the last Reno, after so many years of being quite central to the races. I was a little surprised that Mr. Bagley did not race it. He is getting older, though. He really loves this airplane -- treats it better than some of his other airplanes.

I'll thrown in a couple here myself if that's ok.
This is P-51D 44-72216 'Miss HELEN' (G-BIXL), photographed (through gaps in a wire boundary fence) at the first Sligo Airshow in Ireland last June.

According to the owner's webpage, she was the personal mount of Capt. Ray Littge of the 352nd FG at RAF Bodney, Norfolk, and named after his fiancée Helen Fischer. He was credited with 10.5 aerial kills with previous aircraft, plus 6 ground victories with 'Miss HELEN'. His tour ended shortly after, and she briefly became 'Miss NITA' as the mount of Capt. Russell Ross, who flew her until the war ended in Europe. Full history here:

Ciuchetton, the middle racer above, has lived an adventurous life Aerial Visuals - Airframe Dossier - North American-Commonwealth Aircraft Corporation CA-18-Mk 22 Mustang, s/n A68-198 RAAF, c/n 1523, c/r N286JB. It was the first Australian Mustang imported into the U S, I think, and the Italians from Bakersfield had a very difficult time getting it properly registered in the States. Once all the paperwork was settled, the airplane was active for several years as a superstock Mustang Racer. A lovely polished racer, N86JB was always a pleasure to photograph.

It was the only Mustang racer to regularly fly with a copilot -- Wile E. Coyote was always in the back seat. He also handled security for the airplane in the pits...
